A Bantamwork or Coromandel lacquerwork decorated cabinet on cabriole frame executed in the English manner, mimicking an Asian inspired form of furniture. The upper cabinet with double doors has a fitted interior and is mounted with solid silver and engraved hardware; a most unusual application for this form of furniture. The lacquerwork, executed in Europe, depicts Chinese people interacting with nature. This quality rarely appears on the market. Early 18th century, circa 1730.
