A fine rosewood and satinwood inlaid "D" shaped commode or side cabinet of English origin. The top is crossbanded in satinwood with ebony stringing. The doors are inlaid with bowknot draperies and centered with musical trophies, torches and quivers. The case is supported by square tapered legs. Sold in 1971 at Parke-Burnet Galleries, May 1st, lot # 138, as property of the Barker Welfare Foundation in Chicago to Katrina Hickox Becker. English, circa 1770-80.
