|Title:||A Pair of English Giltwood Armchairs|
|Size:||H 36in x W 24in x D 22in|
A rare pair of giltwood English armchairs attributed to John Linnell. The square molded backs are decorated with beaded borders, fan corners and ribbon carved crests. The fluted legs are surmounted with rosettes and end in ball feet. Fashioned in the French manner, these chairs were the finest examples or English gentrified taste in the Hepplewhite period. The gilt surface is original and in estate condition. English, circa 1770-80.
