An English carved mahogany George II period beaubrummel or dressing table. English, mid-18th century. The case is fitted with an adjustable, mirrored and leather covered basin, hidden by folding flaps. The fall front compartment is over a working drawer supported on Queen Anne legs carved with lambrequin knees and raised on padded castered feet. This is a remarkably useable and ingenious table from a private collection in South Carolina. Provenance available.
