An important 18th century English mahogany octagonal top tea table with open fret gallery and finely detailed carved and fluted urn column shaft. The tripod base with cabriole legs ending in ball and claw feet retains an old, if not original, color and finish. A closely related example by the same maker sold at Christie's Sale #1823 NY, 4/07 for $60,000 for the St. Louis Art Museum and exhibited in London 1932 Art Teasures Exhibit.
