|Title:||A Fine Italian Table|
|Size:||H 30in x W 30in x D 30in|
A remarkable tilt top table of "Etruscan" design probably by Gabriele Capello (1806-1879) commonly known as "Il Moncalvo". Capello often collaborated with designer Filipp Pelagio Pelagi (1775-1860). Pelagi was in charge of the decoration of Royal Palaces including Racconigi. The classical anthemia and floral motifs and use of exotic woods are indicative of the Etruscan designs employed by Pelagi. Turin, Italy, circa 1840.
