|Title:||A Chippendale Serpentine Pier Table|
|Size:||H 31.75in x W 49.5in x D 26.5in|
A George II serpentine pier table of the finest quality in the marlborough manner. The single board figural mahogany top conforms to a serpentine shaped case with cyma curved sides. The top molding is carved with imbricated and punchwork carving over an interrupted line and dot motif. The apron is gadrooned with a drop panel carved with punchwork interlaced leaves and a central pendant. The corner brackets are carved and pierced. The four molded and blocked legs with six sidees on front and five on the rear, end in fine marlborough feet. The condition and patina put this table in a rare class all of it's own. English, circa 1755.
