A masterful satinwood and rosewood inlaid oval drop leaf pembroke table from the Hepplewhite period having a single working drawer. The quarter paneled top with central inlaid shell medallion of the highest quality is surrounded by an unusual cross banded, bevelled edge. The conforming bowed case is supported by four splayed square tapered legs on brass casters. This table retains a mellow honey colored patinated surface. English, circa 1770-80.
